Christine Funk has been working on Forensic DNA cases since 1995.A member of the Public Defender Trial Team, Ms. Funk handles complex litigation with a focus on forensic issues.She also consults on private DNA cases.Ms. Funk speaks locally, nationally and internationally on Forensic DNA, educating prosecutors, defense lawyers, and laypeople on DNA issues.She serves on the Minnesota Forensic Laboratory Advisory Board, the board of the Minnesota Innocence Project, and is one of only five defense lawyers nationwide invited to participate in a Technical Working Group for DNA for Defense Attorneys, a project on behalf of the National Institute of Justice.
Biography
Christine Funk's practice began in 1994, as a full time Assistant Public Defender working for indigent clients in pending criminal matters. Those duties included representation of clients in court at all stages of proceedings, from contested hearings to negotiated settlements to trial and sentencing. Christine Funk is a highly regarded speaker in the area of DNA evidence, with issues such as testing, evidence, DNA basics, trial issues and litigating DNA.
